Durham Indie Collection
As part of our commitment to engage and build our community, and help residents share their unique stories, we welcome donations of self-published books by local authors to the Whitby Public Library Durham Indie collection.
Durham Indie offers diverse works and voices to our readers, and increases exposure for local writers by offering books that may not be available through traditional channels.
Available on the first floor at the Central Library, this collection includes fiction and non-fiction titles and is open to all ages.

Digital Content
Access our Digital Content anytime, anywhere! Digital books, music, movies, newspapers, magazines and journals, courses and more. To get started, all you need is your library card.
Visiting Library Service
Visiting Library Service provides library materials to Whitby residents who cannot visit the Library due to illness, disability, or other circumstance. Items are selected by staff and delivered by a volunteer on a regular schedule. This service is available year-long pending volunteer availability.
We are currently accepting new patrons. Apply online by filling out the Patron Application Form.
