Display and Exhibit Space

The Whitby Public Library provides space for displays and exhibits that support the intellectual, cultural, educational and recreational activities of our diverse local community.   

 

Display and exhibit space is available to: 

  • Individuals, schools, and community non‐profit organizations to display their art, handicrafts, collectibles, and projects. 
  • Non‐profit organizations for the display of promotional and informational material.   

 

Available Display Space 

Central Library: 

  • Main floor display case: 48 inches (length) x 45 inches (width) x 9 inches (depth); 3 overhead lights 
  • Second floor art rail: 50 feet of wall space 

 

Brooklin Branch: 

  • Glass display case: 72 inches (length)  x 36 inches (width)  x 12 inches (depth); 4 overhead lights 

 

How to Exhibit 

Monthly bookings are provided through an application and review process. 

January–June exhibits: applications open in September and close November 1. Exhibitors will be notified by December 1. 

July–December exhibits: applications open in February and close April 1. Exhibitors will be notified by May 1. 

 

Priority is given to Whitby Public Library, Town of Whitby and Durham Region displays.
