Out and About

The Whitby Public Library is committed to being a valued community builder, and as part of this, we are able to bring various library services, expertise and resources directly to our community, outside of our library walls.  We want to meet, learn and share with Whitby residents where they are.

Pop up Library

Our Pop up Library service allows us to deliver our resources and expertise at various locations around Whitby, by temporarily setting up a mini-library. The Pop up Library launched in October and so far we have stopped by the Abilities Centre, Iroquois Park, the Whitby Seniors' Activity Centre, the McKinney Centre and the Highland Towers at White Oaks Court.

Come find us this summer at...

  • The Farmer's Market on Dundas street from 10 am to 12 pm:

Community Activities

We are out and about this month, hosting various library programs and activities across Whitby!  Here’s where:

  • The Ozobots (and library staff!) are visiting St. John the Evangelist, Brooklin Village Public School, and St. Bridget Catholic School.
  • Library staff will be sharing the story of the Inukshuk with those in the Thrive Program at the Abilities Centre.
  • Join us at Victoria Fields for the Canada Day County Town Carnival, where will be crafting and taking green screen photos.
  • At Kidfest at Ribfest you'll find more kid friendly fun from the library on Saturday, July 8th and 9th.
  • At the Summer Artfest you'll find us and our art supplies on Saturday, July 15th - don't forget you can get your library card on the spot too!
