If you would like to receive notification of holds and overdues by e-mail instead of by phone, please complete and submit the form below.  Patrons who register for email notifications will also receive due date reminders three days before library materials are due. This reminder is sent as a courtesy and patrons are responsible for monitoring due dates on materials via check-out slip, online patron account, or calling their local branch.

Please note that e-mail notices contain information about items on hold. Anyone who has access to your e-mail account can view this information.

Personal Info

Personal information on this form is collected under the authority of the Public Libraries Act and the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. It will be used to lend library materials and to provide other library services in compliance with federal, provincial and municipal legislation and Whitby Public Library Rules of Conduct, Internet Access Policy and any other applicable library policies. Questions about the collection of personal information should be directed to the Public Services Manager, Whitby Public Library, or Library CEO.

All registration information is confidential. Information regarding your library use will not be given to any other person or organization, including family members. The only exceptions are that parents or guardians of children ages 13 and younger may be given information about overdue or lost library material, and disclosure required by law.
